Charles Walling, 90, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was called to his eternal resting place on May 25, 2026. He was born on May 22, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jesse and Dorothy Walling.
Charles lived a full and adventurous life marked by hard work, generosity, and a deep love for family and friends. He proudly worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than 30 years, dedicating himself to a career of service and commitment.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Charles loved motorcycles from a young age. He raced motorcycles in his younger years, owned motorcycle shops in the Tulsa area, and spent countless hours traveling cross-country on his bike, creating memories and friendships wherever the road led him. He was also a pilot and loved anything that brought excitement and freedom.
As the years went on, Charles found great joy in crappie fishing, which became one of his greatest passions. Living on Lake Eufaula from 2006 until recently brought him tremendous happiness, and he spent many peaceful days on the water doing what he loved most. Whether working on boats and motorcycles, bowling with his team, or playing pool with friends, Charles stayed active and connected to the people around him.
Above all else, Charles will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. He never met a stranger and would give his time, talents, and support freely to others. His family and friends knew him as a man who lived life fully and loved deeply.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Walling; his children, Sherry Kerns and husband Steve, Vinton Walling and wife Denise, and Kelsey Walling-Canady and husband Bryan; his stepchildren, Kevin Burchfield and husband Steve, and Angela Rahilly and husband Jeff; his grandchildren, Rachael Rogers, Dana Herd, Madi Purcell and husband Justin, Erica Chambers and husband Drew, Gabrielle Wright, Olivia Wright and husband Richard, Jennifer Waters, Georgia Hudson, Rick Hudson, Joshua Walling, Ashlea Robinson and husband Alan, Eric Goolsby, and Alicia Kamp and husband Parker; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Pat Walton; and his brother, Les Walling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Dorothy Walling.
Charles leaves behind a legacy of adventure, laughter, kindness, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
