Christine Alice Nuernberg Kreissler, born March 8, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, passed away on July 23, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a long illness. She was the second of four children of Howard and Marion (Stewart) Nuernberg. A promotion for her father brought the family from Dayton to Columbus, Ohio, where Christine spent most of her childhood.

Christine graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1966 and was selected as Miss Upper Arlington, riding on the float in the community's well‑known Fourth of July parade. A favorite family memory from her youth was the 1962 road trip to the Seattle World's Fair, where she found the brightly painted terra cotta piggy bank that traveled back on her lap and graced her homes throughout her life.

Christine began college at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. She and her roommate, both eager for a change, transferred to the University of Colorado in Boulder, where Christine became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and developed a lasting love for Colorado. After graduation, she worked as a secretary, where she met Jan Kreissler. They married and settled in Fort Collins, where they welcomed twins, Kelly and Jonathan.

While raising her two children, Christine built a varied career. She worked as a residential and commercial real estate broker and served on the Grand Junction City Council, where she was active in local politics. She later transitioned into long‑term insurance sales.

Christine supported her children wholeheartedly in their activities, helping them stay committed through years of practices, games, and school events. Both eventually became team captains in cheer and football - a reflection of the steady encouragement she provided along the way. The family still remembers blasting Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" on the way to Mesa Gold football games - and nearly forty years later, she could still recite the chorus with a big smile. She cared deeply about higher education and worked hard to help her children pursue their paths, supporting one through college and the other through college and veterinary school. Her commitment to education opened doors and created opportunities that shaped the course of their lives.

Her life unfolded in distinct periods shaped by the places she lived - growing up in Ohio, attending college, building a family and civic career in Colorado, spending years in the desert Southwest, and eventually making her home in the Midwest, where she settled in Tulsa for the remainder of her life. Frequent relocations meant she kept her world small, and Christine valued her independence, living privately and sharing her experiences sparingly. She developed a small circle of friends, enjoying regular hikes at Turkey Mountain with her group of "gal pals," often ending the day with dinner together.

Animals were a constant source of comfort for Christine. Her home was shaped by the presence of Bailey and Skeeter; Abby; Tubbs and Cricket; and Sally, Fred, and Lizzy Lou. She kept their ashes after they passed - a quiet reflection of how much they meant to her.

Christine is survived by her children, Jonathan and Kelly; her grandchildren, Dexter, Jasper, Cora, Channing, and Cody; and her siblings, Susan, Amy, and Don. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marion, her significant other Jan, and many pets who were part of her daily life.
