Listen to Obituary

Dave Paul Kissee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on November 27, 1962 to Pete and Betsy Kissee, Dave brought joy, laughter, and light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dave was a loving, selfless, and generous soul with a one-of-a-kind sense of humor that could lift spirits even in the darkest moments. He had an infectious laugh, a heart full of kindness, and an uncanny ability to make people feel like family-whether they were or not.

Dave's passions were as rich and soulful as the meals he loved to create. A phenomenal chef with a special gift for BBQ, he could turn any cookout into a gourmet experience. His love for music was equally profound-an extraordinary guitarist and songwriter, Dave could play almost any song by ear. Music was his language, and through it, he connected deeply with those around him.

He began his career in avionics in 1991, working as an aircraft mechanic. He took immense pride in his work and was respected by his peers for his dedication and skill.

Dave was the definition of a family man. He adored his wife, Lynne, and cherished his role as a stepfather to Denise and a grandfather to Kristina and Ashley. His love for his family was steady and unconditional, and he was always the one making everyone laugh around the dinner table-or treating all to a virtuoso guitar concert.

Dave also had an incredible circle of friends, many of whom became like extended family over the years. His humor and storytelling were legendary, and one story that perfectly captures his quick wit happened on a family trip to Cabo. Years earlier, Lynne had a terrifying experience in a rough surf incident-tossed by rough waves, bruised, and scared. Fast forward to Cabo, where another wave-related mishap left everyone shaken. While on a boating excursion in rough waters, Lynne fell off the boat and was pulled by the waves and hit the boat! But true to form, Dave broke the tension by yelling, "NO MORE WATER, NO MAS!"-leaving everyone laughing even in the moment's fear. It's a memory that still brings smiles today.

Dave is preceded in death by his mother, Betsy Kissee and stepdaughter, Donna Gorodnick.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne (Rogan) Kissee, his father Pete Kissee, stepdaughter Denise Koczo, sister Mary Georgio, brother John Kissee, cherished granddaughters Kristina Pionzio and Ashley Edmands, and niece, Katie Georgio.

Dave will be remembered not only for his talents and humor, but for the love he gave so freely. He lived with passion, gave without hesitation, and loved without condition.

His legacy lives on in every song played, every story retold, and every BBQ shared with laughter and love.

Rest easy, Dave. We'll miss the music, the meals, and your unforgettable spirit.
