David Brooks Parsons, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on January 4, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Freeman and Elva Parsons, David lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and generosity.
David spent over 30 years as a court reporter-a profession he truly loved. He had an incredible knack for storytelling and delighted friends and family with memorable tales from his years in the courtroom. His dedication to his work and his respect for the people he encountered made him not only a skilled professional but also a trusted colleague and friend.
Outside of work, David was a talented gardener with an undeniable green thumb. His gardens were vibrant reflections of his nurturing spirit. In 1996, David met the love of his life, Al Triggs, and the two shared nearly three beautiful decades together. They married on September 24, 2015, and filled their life together with laughter, love, and adventure. Whether they were discovering new restaurants or traveling to favorite destinations like Eureka Springs, Arkansas, David and Al found joy in each other's company and in life's simple pleasures.
David's compassion extended far beyond his circle of family and friends. He was deeply involved in the AIDS Memorial Quilt project, an initiative close to his heart. True to his giving nature, David often offered free massages to those working at quilting events, understanding the emotional and physical toll the work could take. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
David was also an avid animal lover who shared a special bond with every dog he met. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the unconditional love of his furry companions.
David is survived by his devoted husband, Al Triggs; his brothers, Ron (Sandi) Parsons, Mark (Carl) Parsons, and Steve (Kathy) Parsons; his cherished nieces and nephews, Candace, Tracy, Brian, Kristina, Julia, Alison, Kaylen, Karmen, and Kristen; and numerous great nephews and great nieces.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Elva Parsons.
David will be remembered for his boundless compassion, his wonderful sense of humor, and his unwavering love for others. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
