Gina Elizabeth Wedlake, 64, passed away on January 27, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and grew up in Polacca, Arizona, on the Hopi Reservation-a place that shaped her lifelong love and deep respect for Native American culture. She later graduated high school in Sand Springs.

Gina was strong, independent, and deeply compassionate. She was never one for small talk, but she truly loved people. Helping others and giving back came naturally to her, and she lived with an empathy that touched everyone who knew her. Above all else, Gina was profoundly spiritual. Those closest to her often spoke of her remarkable gift-an intuitive, spiritual awareness that came through in vivid dreams and an uncanny sense of knowing. No one called it psychic; it was simply Gina being Gina.

She had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor, never afraid to tell it like it was. A lifelong prankster, she loved teasing her brother growing up-sometimes locking him out of the house-and later delighted in encouraging her nieces and nephews to show their playful side, often convincing them to pose for photos with a mischievous twist.

Gina loved animals, especially her beloved cat, Gypsy. She found peace in going on walks and enjoyed staying active through workouts such as yoga. As a young woman, she loved horses and participated in team roping. While in school, she showed lambs and was involved in FFA, experiences that reflected her strong work ethic and love of animals.

She was a cosmetologist by trade and truly loved her work, finding joy in helping others feel confident and cared for.

Gina met the love of her life, Robert Wedlake, when Robert was working as a Chief Pilot flying throughout Texas. After a long workday, Robert and his coworkers stopped at Dave & Buster's, where they invited Gina and her friends to play pool. From that night on, their story unfolded naturally. They were married on February 13, 2002, and remained best friends and devoted partners through everything life brought their way.

One of Gina's closest relationships was with her cousin, Brian Simmons. They met when Brian was just five years old while Gina was living on the Hopi Reservation, and they instantly connected-bonding especially over music. Gina consistently encouraged Brian to pursue his musical passion. Though life occasionally pulled them in different directions, they always found their way back to each other, growing especially close over the last 25 years. Their bond was more like that of siblings than cousins.

Gina especially loved attending powwows, which allowed her to immerse herself in Native American culture-something that always held a special place in her heart.

Gina is survived by her loving husband, Robert Wedlake; her stepchildren, Dr. John Wedlake and wife Jamie, Caroline Murray and husband Mike, and Tessa Alumbaugh and husband Grant; her step grandchildren, Kallie and Kinley Wedlake, Rand (Haleigh), McKenna, and Griffin Murray, and Carter and Carabeth Alumbaugh; her brother, Andre' Hammond; her nephews, Shaun Randolph, Adrian Randolph, Michael Randolph, and Thomas Randolph; her nieces, Jennifer and Rachel Randolph; her sister-in-law, Regina Randolph; her aunt, Kelly Duvall; her uncle, Rick Weidmann; her cousin, Brian Simmons; and many cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Lee Randolph and Judith Anne Haymond, her brother, Steve Randolph; and her aunt, Elaine Simmons Weidmann.

Gina will be remembered for her strength, her spirituality, her humor, her love for culture and community, and the deep, lasting connections she formed with those fortunate enough to know her.
