Howard Owen Kleeman

Howard Owen Kleeman, age 80, passed away April 22, 2026, surrounded by family at Saint Francis Hospital in Muskogee, OK, after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2pm at Creekside Church in Pryor, OK.

Howard was born November 10, 1945, in Elgin, OK, to W.H. (Bill) and Lois Kleeman.

He graduated from Elgin High School in 1964 and then attended college at Oklahoma State University where he met Janet Piguet. They were married July 8, 1966.

Howard’s passion was always cattle. He and Janet owned and worked their dairy as a family until 1986 when they switched to beef cattle. This passion also led him to serve on the Mayes County Fair Board for 8 years. He was instrumental in the building of the current Show Barn and he continued his support of the annual fair through the years.

Following the heartbreaking loss of Janet in 2011, Howard found love again. He met Jeanette Hunt in 2014 and they were married in January 2015.

Howard enjoyed watching his grandkids in anything they participated in, if he could be there he was. He also really enjoyed family get togethers.

Howard is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jeanette; son Bill Kleeman and wife Cindy; daughter Suzanne Perry and husband Russell; four grandchildren, Audrey Kleeman, Bailey Kleeman, Allen Perry and Alaina Perry; sister, Virginia Pahdocony; sister-in-laws, Claudia Thomas and Carolyn Piguet; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; his parents, W.H. and Lois Kleeman; in-laws, Howard and Leno Piguet; brother, Richard Kleeman; sister; Willene Bishop Maas; brother-in-laws, Jerry Piguet, Orville Maas and Bill Pahdocony.
