Listen to Obituary

Karen Sue Roberts, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 29, 2025, at 5:33 p.m. She was born on February 21, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and spent her entire life in the only state she ever knew. Sue was the daughter of Zona Louetta Trowbridge Forbes and Alfred Jack Earley. She was the oldest among her siblings and, with great resilience and strength, outlived them all. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family; a testimony to her endurance, courage, and feisty personality.

Sue was first married to Dennis Frank Davis after graduating from Carl Albert High School, and they had three daughters together: Kimberley, Karrie and Kristy, who had all been given their mother's middle name. She was a loving mother who gave her girls her whole heart. She knew when to be a mom and she knew when to be a friend. The greatest gift she ever gave her girls was the gift of introducing them to Jesus. Because of that gift, they will see her again one day.

Sue worked as a hairdresser and other odd jobs until she became employed with Kerr McGee Corporation. She was an executive secretary and retired early with the company.

After her first marriage ended, Sue was married again to her late husband, Freddie Don Roberts, who preceded her in death by two months. Together they danced, watched the hummingbirds sing, and built a lifetime of good memories, not only for themselves, but the blended family they shared. They lived in Newalla and Midwest City before settling into retirement at Lake Eufaula, where they enjoyed peaceful days, companionship, and time on the lake with their family.

Nothing brought Sue greater joy than being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she poured her heart into them. She was always ready to watch a softball game or volleyball game and cheer on her granddaughters. The shopping sprees with Kamryn, Taylee, and Taryn would be so much fun for Sue. She found such joy in watching her granddaughters as their faces lit up at the next pretty outfit on the rack. Shopping, swimming, sleepovers, ball games, and Braum's ice cream stops were all she needed to have a full heart. Being with these three granddaughters was her happy place on this earth.

Ryan Hurley was more than a grandson to Sue. She had helped raise him, stepping in as a
mother figure during his formative years with tenderness, strength, and unwavering devotion. Ryan was her only grandson and held a special place in her heart. The times that they shared together meant so much to Sue and she was so very proud to be a great-grandmother to Ryan's son, Thomas.

Brianna Sneed, Sue's oldest granddaughter, held a special place in her heart. Although Brianna and Sue didn't get to spend a lot of time together, the times that they did have brought countless joy and gratitude to Sue's heart. She loved Brianna and enjoyed watching her perform with her flags and artistic abilities. Sue was so proud of who she had become as a beautiful, independent, young woman.

Sue will be remembered for her strength, her deep devotion to God and family, and the way she showed love through presence, care, and sacrifice. She will never be forgotten in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and extended family. Each one has been forever shaped by her love and sacrifices.

Sue is survived by her children, Kimberly Davis, Karrie Michael, and Kristy Wells; son-in-law, Timothy Wells; daughter-in-law, Michelle Hobbs; step-children, Robbie Roberts, Larry Roberts, and Kelly Malone; grandchildren, Ryan Hurley, Brianna Sneed, Kamryn Wells, Taylee Wells, and Taryn Wells; step-grandchildren, Christopher Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Tyler Willard, Braden Roberts, Mickey Roberts, and Karlyn Wilder; great-grandson, Thomas Hurley; niece, Kellie Denise Davis; nephews, William Wayne Earley, Kee Earley, Stacy Davis, Traye Steele, and Kenneth Earley Jr.; and favorite cousin, Shara Dee Kornele.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Don Roberts; mother, Zona Louetta Trowbridge Forbes; father, Alfred Jack Earley; brothers, Wayne Earley and Kenneth Earley; sister, Virginia Steele; and brother-in-law, Albert Milton Steele Sr.

A Memorial Service will be held on January 17, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Beautiful Restoration Ministry, 19200 Terra Place, Edmond, Oklahoma.
