Ramon Ricardo Torres passed away on April 14, 2026.

Ramon was born on February 20, 1956, in La Junta, Colorado, to Joe and Rosie Torres. He was raised in Rocky Ford, Colorado, where he attended high school and distinguished himself in wrestling. Known by his nickname "Hoso," meaning Black Bear, Ramon was a three-time State Champion, a reflection of his strength, discipline, and determination.

Ramon began his working life in Colorado at the pickle factory before moving on to work at pig farms in Texas and Kansas. He later found his true calling in law enforcement, a career he pursued with great pride and dedication for 19 years. He was drawn to this profession after witnessing an event that deeply impacted him and inspired him to serve and protect others. Following his retirement from law enforcement, Ramon continued working as a haul truck driver.

In his free time, Ramon enjoyed listening to music, watching television, especially crime shows and westerns. He found joy in fishing, playing cards, and cheering on OSU Cowboys softball. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. Ramon was also proud of his faith and his baptism at Life Church.

Ramon is survived by his children, Samson, April, Amondo, Norma, Jesus, and Kori; his siblings, Francis, Manuel, Josephine, Elsie, and Paul; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rosie Torres; his sister, Teresa; and his granddaughter, Valerie Faith Vigil.

Ramon will be remembered for his strength, dedication to his work, and the love he had for his family.
