Samuel was born on November 28, 1965, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Brady Gene Smith and Ann Cowles. From an early age, he developed a deep love for the outdoors that would remain with him throughout his life. He especially loved fishing - whether casting a line along the Arkansas River or finding a quiet spot anywhere the fish were biting. For Samuel, it was never just about the catch, but about the peace, patience, and simple joy found in nature. He also enjoyed hunting and cherished the time spent outdoors.

A quiet and gentle soul, Samuel expressed his love in steady, meaningful ways. He had a special gift for lightening the mood, always trying to make every situation a little more light-hearted. Beneath his calm nature was a generous heart - he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Samuel is survived by his mother, Ann Cowles; his sons, Cody and Leslie Willis; his sister, Diana Greff; his brother, Jeffery Cowles; his nieces, Melissa Greff, Amanda Greff, and Cheyenne Cowles; and his nephew, Skyler Cowles.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of the outdoors, his playful teasing, and his unwavering willingness to help others. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
