Triena Coufal

Triena Louise Dotson Coufal passed peacefully on January 2, 2026. Triena was born to James Earnest Dotson and Cleo Underwood in Idalou, Texas in 1941. She was the fifth of ten children growing up in Idalou, Texas and married Roy Deavenport in 1961 while attending Lubbock Christian University. They were married for 24 years and had three children, Stephen Lee Deavenport, Eva Christine Dotson, and Joseph Lynn Deavenport. They moved from San Diego, California to Austin, Texas and then to East Lyme, Connecticut in 1973 where they lived until 1987. Triena moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and started working as an administrator at the Indian Springs, Nevada school system for several years. Triena married Elvin Coufal in 1994 and they remained in Nevada until 1998 when they moved to Granbury, Texas.

She was active in her church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed baking, dancing and reading western novels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elvin, her son Stephen, and five brothers, and two sisters.

A family service is planned to remember and celebrate her life at the Dotson cemetery plot in Idalou, Texas.
