Veda Louise Miller

Veda Louise Miller, 54, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at 7:35 AM at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on July 3, 1971, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Veda was preceded in death by her father, Preston Brooker; her mother, Brenda Brooker; and her sister, LaCreatia Jones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Anna Miller of Yuma, Arizona, and Brenda Brister of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her sister, Stacy Phillips and husband John Phillips of Hobbs; her brothers, Kelly Brooker of Odessa, Texas, and Clifton Brooker of Hobbs; her brother‑in‑law, Bobby Jones of Hobbs; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Veda was never afraid of hard work. She had a giving spirit and was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand. She loved to dance and had a natural talent for country dancing and the lively styles of the 1960s. One of her sister's fondest memories was when Veda and her dad would step out onto the floor to do the Twist and other fast dances.

In her later years, Veda faced many difficult battles. Life was often hard, yet even in the toughest circumstances, she showed a quiet resilience and did what she had to do to survive. She rarely complained, and she held onto her faith in Jesus. Veda will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle strength in the face of life's challenges, and the love she carried for her family, especially her daughters. May she rest in peace in the presence of her Savior and with those who went before her.
