William Paul Miller, lovingly known as Paul, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on November 10, 1970, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Paul was the son of Richard Miller and Sarah (Monroe) VanWinkle.
Paul was the kind of person who gave generously from the heart. Even when he had little himself, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether it was stopping to assist someone broken down on the side of the road or simply being present for those who needed a friend, Paul had a deep and genuine care for others. His life was a testament to compassion and quiet acts of kindness, and those who knew him say he touched countless lives.
Though he could be serious at times, Paul had a sharp wit and a great sense of humor. He had a knack for bringing laughter into even the hardest of days. He cherished simple joys-visiting with the staff at iHop and Starbucks in Sand Springs, sharing stories, and offering a warm smile that brightened the room.
Paul held deep appreciation for the support he received from the Children and Family Services, and especially from Jessica, Shelby and Briee, who made a meaningful impact on his life.
Paul also enjoyed the support, fellowship, and friendship he received from Centennial Baptist Church in Sand Springs.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was known for his special bond with animals-especially dogs. Friends often joked that dogs were naturally drawn to him, sensing the kindness in his heart even from across a yard or street.
Paul is survived by his mother, Sarah VanWinkle, and step-father, Ron VanWinkle; his brothers, Richard and his wife Amy Miller and Adam VanWinkle; his sister, Laurie and her husband Michael Lang; his beloved nieces and nephews, Timothy Miller and his fiance, Ellie, Andrew and his wife Ashlynn Sturges, Maddy Lang, and Michael Lang; and his great-niece, Leann Sturges.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Anne Moore and Louise Dameron; grandfathers, Junior VanWinkle and Tike Dameron; and nephew, Morgan Miller.
Paul's legacy is one of quiet generosity, laughter, and unconditional kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
